Completed but Uncompleted Love Story
Every story has a complete ending but some might not. Here I am sharing a story that is very close to my heart as it is completed but still uncompleted and narrated by me. All the events in this story have actually happened and some parts might be metaphors. Let's start with a story, one day I was traveling for work and missed my daily train from my connecting station then I have taken the next train which was scheduled after 10mins. I took the train and sat on the window seat and looked outside of the window. I was thinking of the mistakes that I have done, a decision that I have taken and people who have left me alone and that left my eye in tears.
The train halted at one station, there was one girl who caught the train and sat opposite my seat on the window side. When the train started, her hair starts tangled on her face, and as usual, she started to untangle them. When she was untangling them I saw in her eyes, that she was on verge of crying and I can see the tear in her eyes but there was a smile on her face. She was hiding her pain in her smile.
For the same consecutive week, I made sure that I took the same train and window seat every day, as she followed that same routine. We never spoke in that week but understood that we both are going through some pain in each other’s life. There was the transfer of silent words between both of us as sometimes you don't require verbal communication only silence is enough.
Next week, we started taking the same train together and shared the stories of each other’s life. I came to know that our stories are kind of the same and both are going same pain in their individual life. Something was very different with her she was a very kind, sweet, and innocent girl but the stories that had was very painful. Someone will never tell much she was holding so much just by meeting her at first glance. I was very thankful that I missed my train on that otherwise this wouldn’t happen.
After a month, we shared a very special bond but a very unusual thing start to happen. She stopped taking the same train and unanswered my texts. I was very afraid of calling her because I never did as it was not required. She always replied to me within 1–2 min no matter how much she is busy. I waited for one week and she didn’t show up in that week then I stopped going and started working from home as traveling through the same path reminds me of her.
One day, I got a message from her saying that “Hi, Sorry for not replying, but I am catching up on the same train. Can you please meet me today?🥺” I left my house in hurry and took that train. I continue my journey and waited for her till the station from she usually takes the train but she didn’t show up at that moment my heart felt very heavy. She took the train the from next stop and that moment took me to the day when I first saw her as she was wearing the same dress. She made a gesture to check her message on my phone and when I saw that message, it was very shocking and my heart again felt very heavy the same day twice. She was moving to another place forever and it would be very impossible to keep connected with me from now onwards due to personal reasons.
I messaged her — “Hi Girl, You are very strong. Today, I realized that people in your life will come and go but you need to stay on the same path and move on in your life. Do take care of yourself. I am not going to tell you to stay with me or in my life as I know that is not possible that this point.” We decide to keep a distance between us and stay disconnected from each other as it will hurt both of us in the future if we keep the connection. We both deleted each other's phone numbers on that journey.
One of the last gestures she made after getting down from the train in one of the middle stations that Please smile and continue your journey without me. I looked at her and the train started, she starts to fade away from my vision and I know she was happy and sad at the same time. I looked at her with a smile and said — “ Bye and Thank you”
This story is very very special to me as it teaches me that every person in your life does not have a permanent place in your life. You need to understand that even though you will not share your pain, someone will come in your life who will understand it without you saying it. As I mentioned at the start of the story, some part was a metaphor and it was Train and not the journey.
